Soft HackleGold Rib Bead Thorax Hare's Ear Soft Hackle

Soft Hackle Flies have been around a long time. The body of the fly can be silk floss, dubbing of various animal fur, Pheasant Tail fibers, or Goose biots. The one thing they have in common is a collar of soft hackle fibers. These fibers pulse in the water and give the fly an illusion of life. They are very effective and several books have been devoted to tying and fishing them, for example the books by Sylvester Nemes, The Soft-Hackled Fly Addict , The Soft-Hackled Fly: A Trout Fisherman's Guide and The Soft-Hackled Fly and Tiny Soft Hackles: A Trout Fisherman's Guide . The hardest part of tying these flies is getting the hackle right. Master this technique and you will be ready to tie dozens of different flies.
