CDC and Elk Caddis

The CDC and Elk is a caddis imitation that is easy to tie and very effective.  This down wing imitation can be used for caddis as well as mayfly and stonefly hatches. In fact, it is a great attractor pattern when there is no obvious hatch.

Improved Montana Stonefly

Improved Montana Stonefly

The Montana Stonefly is one of the first stonefly patterns taught to beginning fly tyers. Originally the fly was tied with chenille for a body. The improved version uses wool yarn and a better imitation of a real stonefly.  I have modified the pattern to use biot tails.

FLY FISHING EXPO 2019

Fly Fishing Expo 2019 will be held in Bozeman, Montana on July 22 through July 27.  I will be tying on Thursday and Friday of that week.  If you are there, come by and say hi.  I have been trying to decide what flies to tie.  Of course, one day I will be tying the wobble bugger and wobble frog,  On the second day, I am going to tie paraloop emergers.
